Instant Pot Pro Crisp Cooker

Helpful Review: "I bought this after looking at a dozen brands and numerous models with a number of them being a lot more expensive but I purchased this being a little skeptical that it would have enough room for large roasts as our previous cooker had an oval shaped pot that seemed huge but had a teflon coated pot. This one is GREAT, had plenty of room for large meals and the pot is stainless, and the pressure relief valve is so much better than what we previously had as well that would spit and splatter scalding water everywhere. The cooking options are clearly labeled and it's easy to put your food in, set it, and go. Clean up is easy with the stainless pot. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to others." - Andy
Filipino Desserts - Surprisingly Delicious!
Filipino desserts offer a delightful combination of textures and natural sweetness. These are some treats I tried out at home. If you already have some ingredients, they should be pretty simple to make.
Halo-halo is a popular Filipino dessert meaning "mix-mix."
To make halo-halo at home:
-Fill a tall glass with crushed ice.
-Add nata de coco (coconut gel), jelly cubes, sago pearls (tapioca), sweet potato, and sliced ripe banana.
-Spoon in ube jam (purple yam) and grated coconut for added flavor.
-Drizzle evaporated milk over the top to enhance creaminess.
-Optional toppings include leche flan (caramel custard), a scoop of ice cream (traditionally ube-flavored), or purple yam jam and sweet beans.
-For extra flavor and crunch, you can add jackfruit, fried rice grains, pinipig (pounded young rice), or cereal.
-Stir all the ingredients together to mix them thoroughly.
Enjoy the refreshing medley of flavors and textures in each spoonful of halo-halo, a beloved Filipino dessert.
Bibingka is another delicious Filipino dessert made with simple ingredients.
To make bibingka at home:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish or individual ramekins.
In a mixing bowl, combine
1 cup of rice flour
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
Gradually whisk in 1 cup of coconut milk and 1/2 cup of water until you have a smooth batter.
Pour the batter into the greased baking dish or ramekins.
Optional: Top the batter with slices of salted duck eggs and sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the bibingka is set and the edges are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
Serve warm, garnished with grated coconut or coconut flakes, and enjoy the soft and slightly sweet goodness of homemade bibingka.
